Instrumental music is offered as part of the regular school curriculum in Lake-Lehman School District. The student who learns to play a musical instrument learns discipline, cooperation with others and a new way to a richer, fuller life. Participation in the band program automatically places your child in a worthwhile school activity and enhances overall academic performance.

The Lake-Lehman Cadet Band is comprised of approximately 130 students in 5th and 6th grade from the three elementary schools in Lake-Lehman School District (Lehman-Jackson, Lake-Noxen & Ross). Students that are involved in the program perform in two concerts a year (Winter & Spring) as well as participate in the "Music in the Parks" band competition held at a local amusement park each year.

6th grade students that are involved in the music program are invited to perform with the Lake-Lehman "Black Knight" Marching Band at one of the home football games each Fall. This is an opportunity for students to experience the music program at the Junior/Senior High School and decide whether they would like to continue with the program when they reach 7th grade. 5th and 6th grade students are also invited to perform with the Elementary Indoor Percussion Ensemble each year.
